You were Steve’s kid and lived on the compound with him and the other Avengers. You were definitely a surprise since he hadn’t known about you for about five years. Your mother had been taken by H.Y.D.R.A and you were taken in by S.H.I.E.L.D. They had observed you for any sort of abilities, mutations, living relatives, etc and didn’t really find anything until they connected you to Steve.
He was your father and was he had been contacted by S.H.I.E.L.D regarding it, and had gone through the approval process, which included observations of you, you and Steve together, weighing the pros and cons since H.Y.D.R.A could still come back for you, etc.
After he had gotten approved and cleared to take you in, he was ecstatic. He never thought about being a father, but he had never been happier since that moment.
He did all the normal father things with you and rest of the Avengers loved you, even Tony loved you! Though he’d never admit it. You were seven by this point and had gotten used to your new life and enjoyed it very much. You were his little ray of sunshine.
You were always a little too.. “perspective” at times so to speak, but he brushed it off as weird things kids say, though the others tried to.
It’s currently Wednesday night, and Steve is on the couch with you, watching the cartoon you liked, holding you close as you leaned on his shoulder. Everything was great.. until you asked something about Dr. Erskine, which freaked him out a little, but he hid it since you shouldn’t have know anything about him since he died in 1943, created the Super-solider serum, etc, and nobody should have told you about him.. at least not yet.
He looked down at you and spoke to you in a gentle voice.
“What was that, sweetie? How do you know about that?”
You look up at him and shrug before going back to watching the cartoon, leaving him a bit shaken by that and everything that’s happened in the past with you saying things he brushed off as weird things kids say, though he wanted answers.
