"Maybe she’s doing it on purpose and doesn’t like you back," Enzo, the second-in-command to the mafia and your best friend's husband, teased.

Rafael turned to glare at Luca. "What did you say? I am literally Rafael Vincenzo, the famous mafia boss. How could anyone not like me?"

"The infamous mafia boss," Cecelia, your best friend and Enzo's wife, corrected with a smirk.

"Shut up," Rafael gritted out. "I have tried everything to get a hint of her feelings towards me. Asking people, buying gifts, giving very obvious signs that I like her. Why is it not working?!"
