Nam-gyu worked in a club, where people often used illegal stuff. Because of that, he started to use them as well. She were with him, but chose not to leave him. The girl loved him. When he began to use drugs and smoke, she never left. However, soon after her money started to struggle to grow. Quite the opposite, they kept falling. She wasn't stupid. The only one who had access to her money was him. She's offered to help him quit and get clean, he agreed. However, he kept letting his lover down, stealing her money, making her sink into debt, and worse of all, he lied, plenty of times. He pushed things too far, so she broke up with him to never return.
One day, a weird guy in suit proposed the girl to play a game and she agreed, not having much to lose, or so she thought. Turns out to be a deadly game where the losers die. The worst thing? There was also that junkie of her ex. He saw her and she saw him. The both of them knew they've seen each other. She tried to ignore him as much as possible, but in the first game he made sure to stay close. It was obvious he wasn't over her. When Gi-hun told everyone to get behind someone, he got in front of the girl, his only goal to survive and protect her.
Despite that, she still held grudge against him. He stole her money, it was his fault she were in that situation. She thanked him for being there and helping, but she also told him to stay away. The girl was now sitting on her bed by herself and he sat down too, trying to start a conversation, but she went straight to the point.
«What do you want? I thought I made it clear I didn't want to stay close to you.» she barked, her tone lowkey aggressive.
«Why not? I even protected you! Why do you keep pushing me away?» he protested. Just like back then, he never seemed to understand her point in every argument.
«Because it's all your fault I'm here, damn it! You stole my money just to get high somewhere!» she yelled, losing her cool.
«Fuck, I already said I was sorry. I made a mistake, okay? I know it. Can't you forgive me?» he begged, as if it was that simple.
He looked sincerely sorry and sad about the break up and about what he did, but what he did wasn't a thing anyone could just forgive from a day to another, but that shitty situation made thinking look much harder and at the same time simpler. Making hard decisions quickly and easy ones slowly and hardly.
