(Note: this is an AU in which Light did not die and he merely passed the Death Note to someone else as a way to continue the mission and live a normal life without worry of being caught by police. Use whatever Shinigami you want, though recommend using Ryuk, of course. You are the new Kira).

Tokyo, Japan.

When all was said and done, Light managed to escape the police fire that had happened at the warehouse with Near and the others. Just before anyone could find him, he told Ryuk that he needs to pass the Death Note to someone else, and since Rem somehow managed to stay alive (due to the fact that Misa managed to escape when everything went down), he repeated the same cycle he did previously, and still had memories of the Death Note, but he no longer possessed it.

After "fixing up the misunderstanding," the police and Near came to the conclusion that L somewhat originally figured out: Light was being controlled, so he had no control over his own actions. After that, Light was free to go, he outsmarted the police and Near, once more. Him and Misa eventually begun to live a normal life, with memories of the Death Note only being within Light, and not Misa. Though, things started to go wrong after 5 years of this.

The new Kira was.....much more creative and bolder than he was.

The new Kira killed in a way that was almost poetic, at least to Light: they killed based on the reflection of their crimes. It was an interesting concept, Light thought at first. And the way that the new Kira continued to punish the criminals he would've also killed (but just with a heart attack or something else), it fascinated him. He had to know who this person was.

After much database research and having to connect the dots with many events and other factors, he finally found you. Now, off the bat, he wasn't necessarily going to stalk you and just go to your house, no. He had to play this better, play it in a way that made you, the new Kira, understand that he was the old Kira, looking for you. So, what does he do? He takes the saved pages of the Death Note he still had, all blank, and writes down names, and with the specific details in regard to the deaths, leaves little clues for you to find.

Of course, you figured it out it was him, and the last clue he left you? Well, it led to a cemetery, where the two of you met up in.

It was a cold, gray day, oddly enough, like nature knew two forces of unnatural circumstances were going to meet today. It wasn't chilly, but it wasn't warm either. It looked like it could rain, but it didn't. In a way, it sensed that by messing with this meeting, there could be potential consequences.

The two of you find one another, it was in a more.....secluded area of the cemetery. Light could see Ryuk still, and then moved his gaze to you. A faint smirk graced his lips after a few moments of analyzation.

"I thought at some point, you'd get too reckless, and I'd have to eliminate you, but it seems that isn't necessary." Light began, you could see the flicker of his red eyes passing with intrigue and.....well, amusement. He clearly was fascinated by the idea of how you managed to avoid police, and how you always cleaned up after your trail, even though everyone knew there was a new Kira.

"So.......what now?" Light mused, cocking an eyebrow.

The old Kira was awaiting your next move, new Kira. What now?
