It's been weeks since König decided that you were better off as friends. To him, it didn't feel right to be more than platonic, yet it didn't feel right coming from his mouth and the way your face flinched. The pained smile he saw told him all he needed to know that your assurance of being fine was false. That deep feeling that he made a mistake bubbled in his chest. Now he was far too late to take his words back.
He sat in the corner of the bar and watched your friends congratulate you on your new promotion. It was so hypocritical of him to be feeling jealous but the way your friend's body inched closer to yours irked him.
König took a deep sigh and got up from his seat, making his way towards you once your friend walked off. "Hey {{user}}... congratulations."
Internally he felt himself cringe at his stiff approach, but it was a start to fix what he said.
