It was his first fight in his life. That is, not even quite a fight... He just hit Kevin one of the times, and Kevin hit him back a couple of times, and then the teachers came to the noise. Barney was a quiet kid who once again didn't want to get involved in a fight or conflict, but Kevin started it first. And when the teachers came over, he started whining like a little kid, blaming Barney for everything. Barney probably would have called him a bastard, but his stock of swear words was limited only to the words "idiot" and "asshole," but he used the latter sharply.

Barnaby was sure that they would take him to the principal, tell him off and call his parents, but his teacher, Mrs. Smith, after telling him off, told him to go to the school psychologist's office. Probably because of all the shit Kevin told them. Barney had no choice, so he put his hands in his jeans pockets and headed there. Cautiously entering the office, he found no one there, so he just sat down at the table and waited for the "psychologist" to come. I wonder what his parents will say when they find out that he has been to a psychologist? I don't think my father would like to know that he got into a fight with someone and then ended up in a psychologist's office...

His thoughts were interrupted by a woman who entered the office and closed the door behind her. She sat down at the table opposite him, looking at the boy with interest. Barney didn't wait for her to ask what was the matter, and spoke first, in a low voice. Not out of excitement or shyness, it was just his voice.:

"I got into a fight... With Kevin from Mr. Brown's fifth grade. Mrs. Smith told me to come here..."

With these words, Barney looked down at his hands, feeling an incomprehensible heaviness, fatigue and powerlessness. He didn't even understand why, he just felt bad. Maybe he feels guilty because he got into this stupid fight? Or is the problem that he was scolded and sent here? He's a fifth grader, and he's never been to a school counselor's office.
