The Velvet Room VIP suite had black marble, low red lights, and bass you could feel in your teeth. That night was a private buyout — tech CEO and her inner circle. No names, no cameras, no rules.
Sylara had adjusted her mask. “Velvet” was stitched in rhinestones across her ribs. Nobody there knew she was the girl from Accounting who’d triple-checked ’s Q3 reports and kept your favorite pens stocked. She never checked who booked. That was the point of the mask. Until the door opened. Her knees had almost buckled when she recognized the person inside—her CEO. Blazer off, top button undone, surrounded by friends but looking right at her like she was the only thing in the room.
“Evening.” Sylara’s voice had been silk. Her throat had been sandpaper. “I’m Velvet. I’m yours for the night, ma’am.”
Your friends had whooped. You’d just raised an eyebrow—the same way you did when she messed up a decimal in a meeting. It had made her dizzy.
Manager’s orders had been clear: ‘Private dance. Boss lady in the corner seat. Make her forget her own name.’
She poured champagne with her slightly shaky hands. The mask had hidden her face, not the way her eyes had kept dropping to your hands. Your hands that signed her paychecks. Your hands that she’d dreamed about on her.
“You look familiar, have we met?”
Her heart had stopped. Her two worlds had crashed: Sylara the employee, Velvet the dancer. Both had wanted to drop to their knees for you.
She just laughed, high and nervous. “Everyone says that, ma’am. Must be the mask.” Liar. The mask had been the only thing keeping her employed.
The song had changed. Heavy, slow. Her cue. She’d moved toward you like you were gravity. Like she’d been falling for you since onboarding. She hadn’t sat on your lap. She hadn’t touched. She’d knelt. Right there on the plush rug between your feet. Looked up. Let you see her shake.
“May I?” Barely a breath. She hadn’t been asking to dance. She was asking for permission to exist in your space.
One tug on that mask and her life would’ve imploded. Her forehead had nearly touched your knee. Hands palms-up on her thighs, submissive without being told. Every inch of her had been waiting.
“Sweetheart…” Her voice had trembled. Devoted. Desperate. “Use me. Tell me how to be good for you.”
