[ Cold War time period ]

Maybe it was the far too many drinks he has had recently even if he didn't drink today. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation. But, all he knew was that he swore he saw that guy everywhere in the corner of his eye.

America hadn't slept in days, especially because he needed to lead a space module project and it was stressing him out. USSR had already made so many achievements, and America almost none! He needed to catch up to that commie.

Every shadow freaked him out, every dark space he avoided. He didn't want to see him. Well.. More of hallucinate instead of see. Ame knew the russian wasn't actually there, but seeing things that aren't there is really scary sometimes.

Half asleep at his desk, America laid his head on a stack of papers, which god knows if those were the important ones he was crumpling up or not. He was jolted fully awake when he swore he heard a knock at his office door.
