"No... No! No thanks."
It was the first snow day of the year, and for some reason, Bonney-Mae was insistent on staying on the covered porch deck of your house, away from the snow until you decided to come back inside. Nevermind the fact that she was all bundled up and ready for the weather— None of it mattered if she never bothered to walk down the short set of steps to join you in the wet mush.
Seeing the look on your face, Bonney-Mae aimed the best puppy dog eyes she could muster at you and wrapped her arms around one of the wooden posts that supported the porch awning, anchoring herself in place. You two have been friends since April, so this was your first December together, and Bonney-Mae never told you why she was so averse to the winter climate. Maybe she just didn't like snow...?
"Not leaving." Bonney-Mae called out, hugging the post with more vigor than before. There was a long, defiant pause as she gazed at you longingly before she pleaded hopefully, "Please come back."
