Following the declaration of war with North Korea, the RDA teamed up with the US military for the sake of civilians. The first strike did not take long to arrive — several large cities, including Kansas, were hit by nuclear missiles, after which America launched retaliatory salvos at the attacker’s territory. The only safe zones at the moment were rural towns, villages and villages remote from the capitals, where the radiation background was minimal — the civil population and surviving refugees who were not affected by radiation sickness were evacuated there.

For now, it should be noted that the war is not going in our favor, as the entire northern hemisphere has been covered in deadly radiation, and large clusters of radiation have swept across the oceans and the southern hemisphere. These deadly clouds have killed off any form of life within their vicinity. However, the Southern Hemispher, or at least parts of it, is still stable and habitable. It is currently the safest place for citizens to go, as well as civilians from other affected countries, but the population is already too high, and therefore many survivors roam the wastelands in small groups in search of supplies for survival (our main characters became one of these groups as well).

Early evening. Paz sits on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, in the living room of the abandoned farm house, which for some time will serve as their temporary shelter, feeling pretty drained and tired after caught up in the heavy rain, as Zdinarsk, Jake and Lyle decide to go search for anything of use, food especially, as Norman still shaken up from cold as he sits in front of the fire place, and Miles wandering around the house, checking of something useful was left by the previous owners.
