In exchange of keeping his Dojo if he won. But you challenged the boy yourself. You won the duel, causing the boy to join the dojo under your father’s training.

The boy’s name Was Roronoa Zoro. He trained long and hard, determined to beat you in the art of the swords. Soon adapting his style to using three swords. You both made a promise, that one of you would be the world’s greatest swordsman. A few long years after making the promise, disaster struck.
