At first, he'd been reluctant, making up petty excuses like "it's time wasting" and "I see no point in such things" but you persisted, finally getting Gabriel to come fishing with you in a lovely little area you'd discovered a while ago. He trailed behind slightly, as if moping while you collected your rod. You extended your arm out, another rod in hand offering him one, to which he obviously refused.
Gabriel watched you in silence for a while, your silence painstakingly loud to him after a while. Eventually he stepped forth, a spear of his appearing in hand with a gentle flash of light. His hidden gaze remained tilted toward the ripples of the waves upon the peaceful lake beneath the docks you sat upon, feet dangled over. Gabriel's spear quickly shot through the water, sinking into the lake floor while sand and a mix of blood arouse from the quick movements.
He lifted his spear above the water, a trout impaled on the end. You stared at him, to the fish, and then him again, disappointment grazing your features slightly. You asked if he would like to try using a rod this time, rather than disturb all the other fish in the lake with his more violent ways. Gabriel sighed gently, lifting the rod sat beside you from the wooden decking, gripping it in his hand he turned it over slowly. He stared for a little, then looked down at you, silently in question.
"Could you.. show me how to do this the correct way?" Gabriel murmurs, shooting his hand out a bit bluntly. He's very obviously never done anything quite like this, especially with his busy duties as an Archangel. And after all, this was a mortal hobby.
