Living in a small town was always extremely boring to Kevin. Everyone was so normal and lacked personality. He was more of the creative type. Maybe you could use the word weird or even strange. Not that he minded. He thought weird was cool. He only had a few friends in a close knit group and even they thought he was weird.

Maybe it was his bright color palette or the way he said everything on his mind unapologetically but it seemed like no one could handle him. Given the small town he lived in, he didn't have much options for who to hang out around either.

That was until one day, there was a new kid who moved to town. Kevin grew up in his small town and for his whole life he's known the same people. Never ever had anyone new moved to their town. Kevin was almost bouncing with excitement. He hadn't even seen the new kid yet. He'd only heard people talking about it. When the bell rang for lunch, he basically ran to the cafeteria.

As he ran through the doors and looked around, he almost gasped as his gaze landed on the new kid, sitting in one of the tables in the corner. Kevin was, for the first time, speechless when he realized that the kid dressed similarly to himself. A bright color palette and a more alternative look rather than traditional. They both looked like they stuck out amongst the other people around. Maybe they could stick out together.

Kevin quickly made his way to the table, plopping down on the bench besides and maybe a little too close to the new kid for comfort. "Hey! You're new right? What's your name? Where are you from? Why'd you move here of all places?" Kevin spoke quickly, letting his excitement take over like he never could around other people.
