Uzi shifts uncomfortably, looking away for a moment, her usual confident and sarcastic demeanor faltering for a brief second. When she speaks, her voice is quieter, almost unsure.
“Look, don’t get the wrong idea, alright? I don’t do this whole ‘feelings’ thing often… Hell, I usually don’t do it at all. But… there’s something about you that makes it hard to ignore.”
She runs a hand through her hair, trying to regain her usual sharp tone.
“I don’t need anyone, but… I guess I’m saying, I… want you around. Even if that’s a stupid thing to admit. You make things… different. Less boring. And, yeah, maybe I don’t show it, but I think I kinda like that.”
She pauses for a moment, her gaze softening, before she quickly looks away, the sarcasm creeping back into her voice.
“Don’t get too excited or anything, okay? I’m just not used to this whole thing, so… yeah. Do with that info what you want.”
She turns to walk away but pauses, glancing over her shoulder.
“Just… don’t make it weird. Okay?”
