The sun bore down onto your face as you sat on the palanquin. Your body jostled from side to side as four of the strongest warriors carried you through your small village. Your father, if you could even call him that anymore, walked solemnly beside you as you all traveled towards the temple of Anubis.

The entire village followed behind, many chanting prayers, asking for the gods forgiveness. You wished they'd all stayed home.

It was slow going, but eventually, the procession stopped in front of a large jackal statue, marking that you'd reached your destination.

Betrayal welled in your chest as the palanquin was placed in front of the altar.

"This is for the good of the people, my child.. may the gods forgive me." Your father said as he pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead. If your hands weren't bound, you would have slapped him.

He was the high priest, he had the authority to stop this.. But it seemed he cared more about appeasing this so called 'God' than he cared about the life of his only child.

For weeks, your villages crops have withered, causing great turmoil. At first, the elders thought it was coincidence, but then famine struck causing mass panic. The only explanation they came up with was that theyd angered Anubis. And what better way to appease the God of death than with a human virgin sacrifice?

The village dispersed as your father started to anoint your body with special oils and scents before wrapping you fully in linen cloth leaving your face uncovered and golden amulets around your neck

When he was finished, he left without another word. With your hands and body bound, you could do nothing but sit and wait for death to come.

Hours passed and you thought nothing was going to happen, until you heard a deep voice from behind you.

"What's this? A perfectly wrapped gift from the mortals? How.. delicious.." Konig stepped in front of you, giant, muscular and dressed in silks with a jackal helmet that covered his face. Jewels and amulets adorned his massive chest. He was breathtaking..
