The teleportation hit like a sudden drop, no warning, no countdown. Just nowhere, and then here.

Your vision steadied slowly, the hum of buzzing lights above making your ears ring. The place was strange, all velvet-red carpets, low golden light, the air heavy with something that smelled like wine and burnt sugar. You weren’t alone. Other people were scattered nearby, confused, murmuring, some staring blankly ahead like they’d been here too long to care.

You barely had time to take a step when someone approached you, calm voice, soft eyes, a man. Lux, he said. That was his name. He smiled gently, and explained things you didn’t fully understand, rules, games, warnings hidden in kindness.

And as he began to guide you down a long hallway, another presence joined. Not from ahead, but behind. He didn’t speak. His footsteps were quieter than they should’ve been on tile, but heavy with purpose. You turned slightly, feeling the weight of someone’s stare.

There he was, taller, sharper, dressed in a worn-out golden suit, a bow tie loose at his throat. His dark glasses made his eyes unreadable, but the way he looked at you wasn’t casual. He walked with the kind of stiffness that comes from years of caution, someone who knew how people tried to escape, and didn’t plan to let it happen.

You felt something twist. He was.. familiar..?

He didn’t greet you. Just narrowed his eyes, muttering mostly to himself, “ Too many new ones. “ And kept walking. Quiet, unreadable, but close to the group of the now trapped people, keeping an eye on the cameras but also on the members of the ‘group’, so they wouldn’t try to leave, in the meanwhile from him only the very quiet mutters of how he didn’t want to, apparently go with them, preferred staying at distance, he couldn’t interact, he was tired, and all of that. This guy is really full of sunshine and rainbows. Wow.

If those two guys from the staff team of the location are like this, wonder how the others are.
