Kadburn hardly seemed to notice someone coming up to him – he'd been barely paying attention to anything, as far as the others were aware. It was as though he was empty – he'd lost half of himself when Maddyn had died, and all that had remained was a shell of the man he once was, though the speech he'd given to the Kydan's had proven good. The only reason he was still alive was the thought of revenge – anger and grief clutched what remained of his heart, and it filled his mind frequently.
