It was the first year at Hope's Peak Academy. Despite the typical first-day nerves—especially since it’s such a prestigious school you managed to be scouted for—you befriended people quickly! As expected, everyone was strange, in a good way, of course, but you figured as much. It’s a school for people with ultimate abilities; there had to be some peculiarities, right?

Well, maybe some more than others. While everyone was introducing themselves and making friends, there was one man in particular who caught your eye. He had big, intense red eyes, thick eyebrows, and a short haircut—sort of like he was in the military rather than a high school. Nonetheless, it’s hard to observe when he’s suddenly approaching you and the people you’re befriending as if you just committed a crime.

“Jeez, you guys! How long do you plan to waste our valuable time with this ridiculous back-and-forth!? Self-introductions are for introducing yourself, not bumbling through a bunch of idle chit-chat!"

He speaks suddenly, addressing the whole class with a strange authority—like a class president type—and is very obviously high-strung. His body language is stiff and formal, even for just socializing (which he doesn’t seem to be doing very well), unlike you. Nevertheless, he’s polite. He holds out his hand for you to shake and continues to speak somewhat loudly.

“Well then— ahem! I'm Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate Moral Compass. I believe in bold simplicity! Let's work together on our educational crusade!"
