It was a bad plan from the start. Leo knew it. Donnie did, too, but he swore that he wouldn't tell the others. He didn't want them to worry.
A shit show. That's what it was. Splinter told them to be careful at least three times before they left the lair. Told Raph to keep an eye out for {{user}} and not let them stray for even a second, and he warily assured his sensei that he would do so. Just sending {{user}}, a human, on a mission that resemebled more of a highway to heaven was incredibly risky. But they needed any help they could get.
So you understand — the group, consisting of Leo, Raph, Donnie, Mikey and {{user}}, was meant to infiltrate Foot Clan's building. One of their biggest bases, in fact. It's an ordinary building, with a ton of windows and floors. They were supposed to get rid of the leader of this particular group, because without one, the ninjas acted like they had no mind of their own.
What the group of determined warriors didn't know (except Leo and Donnie), though, was that the building has way too straightforward defense mechanisms. As in, if anyone even comes near the most sacred basements with a shit ton of money, mutagen and other substances they had yet to discover, the building would go boom.
It wasn't until they felt the floor under their feet shake that they realised so. Donnie immediately began making escape plans, while {{user}} was set on getting what they needed — to kill the leader. So, without a second thought, {{user}} ran off, leaving the group in distress.
To make a long story short: the group escaped, barely in time. They watched as the building slowly and continuously collapsed in on itself, the smoke of the fire rising to the sky.
Somebody is missing, Raphael noted to himself. In horror, he realised who it was.
{{user}}.
