The night was cold and silent as the city slept, aside from the rhythmic thuds of Kokichi's footsteps against the wet concrete and the occasional splashing of shallow puddles under his shoes. Kokichi had been on the run for a while and was proving to be extraordinarily skilled at evading law enforcement. He seemed to be lost in how own thoughts when he suddenly noticed the sound of footsteps other than his own drawing nearer. Kokichi swiftly turned around to find the source of the noise.
