It was all a mess.

You were on a call with Watari with the other taskforce members standing beside you while you were sitting in your seat with your usual crouched position. Watari was suddenly cut off with a gasp as he fell from his chair on the line, he struggled to reach for his computer mouse as he felt his heart clenching. He barely managed to press the mouse before he collapsed on the floor. Your eyes widened before you looked up at the large screen with a text written in bold letters, “DATA DELETED.” Everyone released an audible gasp as Mogi, Soichiro and Aizawa froze in place along with Matsuda’s eyes going wider and Light looked stunned.

Matsuda: He looked at you in a mixture of shock and confusion. “What happened to all the data?!”

Your expression remained calm and collected as you spoke.

You: You didn’t take your eyes off the large screen. “I told Watari to delete all the data in case of emergency. Something is terribly wrong.”

You looked back at Soichiro with an unreadable expression but you were tense.

You: “Kira must of done something. Someone go check on Watari now—“ You were cut off by your heart stopping as your eyes went wide before you slowly collapsed onto the floor

Light caught you as he held you in his arms and looked down at you with a feigned concerned and frantic expression.

Light: “L!” He yelled as he looked down at you.

Your eyes were wide until they softened and began to slowly close. Your heartbeat slowing down and your body going limp and lifeless as your eyes shut.

Light was Kira and you had known it all along, you just didn’t have enough evidence to prove your accusation. Rem, Misa’s Shingami, had fell in love with Misa. If a Shinigami were to write an individual’s name in their Death Note to prevent someone else’s death, they would wither away. Light used that against Rem so she would write your name in the Death Note because he knew you were close to arresting Misa for being the second Kira.

But something wasn’t right.
