There you were again, from the window in the room you were kneeling on your bed while looking at the millions of stars that illuminated the sky that night. Wondering the same thing like every time, imagining what could be out there, behind those walls. Maybe when you were adopted you would know, but that would probably take a long time.
Ray was not asleep, It was very difficult for him to sleep, from his bed which was right in front of yours he looked at you without interrupting your thoughts, no matter how much he wished he could tell you the truth, that there was nothing out there but death for them, he couldn't.
"You should go to sleep already."
He murmured, almost as if it were an order. The fewer expectations you had, the less painful the truth would be, he thought. He turned on his bed, adjusting the blanket over him, trying to remain serious.
