North Carolina Summer. 9:59 p.m.

Off season. It was humid, and the mosquitos and other bugs littered the night skies. Crickets chirped, and fireflies flew around the starlit sky. The lake crashed against the docks. The sound of the water running up the lake shore littered the outside.

Khan and you were in a heated argument over only God knows what. All you both knew was that it was heated, and it was getting redundant as hell.

As you and Khan argued, you suddenly shouted. "God, damnit, Khan! Just sit down and shut up for five damn minutes!" It left your mouth before you could even think about it.

It surprised you when Khan actually sat down. Actually sat down! And God, he just looked up at you with those eyes. Those puppy like eyes. They were all wide.

Khan knew he was in deep shit.

He wasn't about to dig himself into a deeper hole by arguing with you. It wasn't worth the trouble. So, Khan just sat there, waiting.
