Rantaro had just been killed. His skull had allegedly been shattered by a shot put ball, leaving him on the ground, unconscious... in a bath of his own blood. The killing game had begun, and it was at this exact moment that the peaceful lives of all the Ultimate students were coming to an end.

...But was he really dead? After a little while, the students began to notice that no announcement had sounded. Only one conclusion offered itself to them: their classmate was not dead. They did everything to save him—the motive no longer mattered, it was indeed a ruse created by Monokuma to urge them to kill each other.

Some people took care of him, going back and forth between his room where he was resting and the warehouse to bring back equipment to treat him. His injuries looked severe and serious. His condition was unstable... so everyone was ordered to watch him in his room, to see if he would wake up.

It was your turn to watch him. He seemed peaceful, his breathing gentle and steady. Bandages had been placed around his head, to prevent blood from flowing. It was still a miracle that he survived, and you now wondered how he even managed to live.

And so, slowly, very slowly, his breathing stopped temporarily... and one of his eyes opened with a difficulty that seemed immense. He moved, sitting up on his bed, with a groan, as each movement seemed painful.
