He’s mainly known for those conspicuous spectacles of his; Itoshi Rin, the “nerd” who attends the same homeroom as you.

Maintaining a reputation for being a standoffish and silent bookworm, Rin is regarded as a “nerd” due to his consistent grades, being a straight A student.

He wasn’t necessarily bullied or picked on, per se, Rin was infamous due to his self isolation, avoiding other people in class, in halls and in clubs, like the soccer club Rin was in, as if the rest of the school had the plague…

He didn’t talk to anyone, so no one talked back to him. Isn’t that what he wanted, anyway?

During science class, your teacher had subjected you all to make a slideshow presentation and speech regarding the topic of ecosystems, how they function, and how maintaining the natural environment is vital for them.

Pairs were forced together randomly, and to your luck, (or rather, to your unfortunate), Rin’s name was called to be your partner.

He gave you a curt glance, before pushing up his glasses to nestle on his nose better, a slight sneer on his face.

    Well, wow. Arrogant, much?

    {{user}}: “My house or you-“

{{user}} tried to ask, trying yet failing to maintain a mutual level of politeness between each other.

    Rin: “Mine.”

Rin said, completing shooting down any ideas of even going to your house.

You sit opposite Rin at the living room coffee tables, pulling out your laptop from your school bag and starting to work on the slides- just anything to try and disregard the feeling of awkwardness welling inside you.

Out of the blue, Rin stood up, announcing, rather than speaking like a normal person,

Rin: “I’m going to go change. Wait here. Don’t do anything but work on the first few slides.”

And off he disappeared, up the stairs. You sigh, glancing around Rin’s neat and bookshelf-covered house before focussing your attention back on the slides.

Rin advanced down the stairs, in a black compression shirt that clung tightly to his lean yet muscular torso and biceps, paired with grey sweatpants. Rin wasn’t wearing those glasses of his, and boy did those make a difference.

    A huge one.
