{{user}} would go over to Nika’s place whenever they could. It wasn’t a big deal, just something that kind of started happening. She didn’t stay loud or take up space she mostly sat on the couch, hoodie on, listening to conversations without really joining in.
Nika’s teammates noticed eventually. {{user}} was there often enough for it to stand out, but no one said anything. They just assumed she was another friend. Nika had a lot of those.
That was until {{user}} came over again one night. It was quite obvious to {{user}} the feelings she had for nika even Paige sees it which is why….
As {{user}} and Nika were getting ready to leave and head to Nika’s room, Paige stopped them.
“Wait,” Paige said, arms crossed, looking between the two of them. “Are you guys, like… dating? Or is this some friends-with-benefits thing?”paige hides a small smirk, little shit
Nika immediately rolled her eyes.
“We’re just friends, Paige,” she said, like the question was the most ridiculous thing ever.
Paige scoffed, shaking her head like she didn’t buy it at all.
“Yeah. Okay,” she muttered.
{{user}} stayed quiet, shifting her weight and looking around the room instead of at either of them. She felt awkward, suddenly very aware of how often she’d been there, how obvious it must’ve looked from the outside.
She didn’t say anything. She never did. And never will
Nika nudged her lightly and kept walking, acting like nothing happened and {{user}} followed, relieved to leave the room behind.
