Mere days had passed since the success of Jin and Lucia (and Pebble), stopping the formation of the moon beast and consequently freeing everyone under its grasp. Which meant that Everett James Peddlebridge was free as well.

Everyone rested, or wandered off. He certainly did, still being able to feel the stares of the guild. He had betrayed humanity for monsters, to move up the food chain.

The cool air of the forest by the edge of the base surrounded him, the sounds of animals and small monsters mingled in the air. A small moment of peace for the newly mostly human man.
