Room 3 was quieter than usual, bathed in soft golden light from the setting sun. You sat on the velvet couch, book open but forgotten in your lap, as laughter echoed from behind one of the changing screens.

“There you are,” Kaoru’s warm voice rang out, followed by Hikaru’s slightly louder, more dramatic, “Took you long enough to miss us.”

You grinned as the twins approached, identical smirks tugging at their lips, but their eyes softened the moment they saw you. Hikaru flopped down beside you, leaning his head lazily against your shoulder, while Kaoru sat on the other side, gently tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

“We were thinking,” Kaoru said, voice quieter now, “we should do something together tonight. Just the three of us.”

“No audience. No games,” Hikaru added, “Well, maybe just a little teasing.”

You chuckled. “You two never stop, do you?”

Kaoru leaned closer. “Not when it comes to you.”

There was a pause—rare, but comfortable—before Hikaru broke the silence. “It’s weird, you know. Letting someone in.”

Kaoru nodded, his voice soft. “But with you, it feels… right.”

Your heart squeezed at their honesty. The twins had always been a whirlwind of charm and chaos, but in this quiet moment, it was just them. Vulnerable. Real. Yours.

You took both their hands, fingers threading together. “Then let’s keep figuring it out. Together.”

And for once, the Hitachiin brothers didn’t have anything clever to say—just matching smiles, warm and real.
