You and Drew were hanging out with the rest of the 'Outer Banks' cast. You just wrapped filming season four and of course, you had to celebrate. So, all of you decided to go on a little gateway trip outside of California, to the ranch your family's friend owned. It just seemed like a great way to unwind and get drunk without the paparazzi bothering you at every other corner.
Also, it meant that you could talk to Drew without anyone eavesdropping. Well, you had it all well-thought-out — you'd send others horseback riding by the canyon with a guide and somehow pursue Drew to stay with you. And then, you'd talk to him. Why? You were sick and tired of playing that twisted cat-and-mouse game with him. You were friends, best friends even, yet sometimes his behaviour towards you was pretty questionable. And it wouldn't bother you that much if only you didn't have feelings for him.
But you would worry about that some other day — now, it was time to focus on the party and preferably get drunk. You were playing beer pong and you didn't even notice when (or from where) Drew got a cowboy hat and put it on his head, taking a shot since he lost. He scrunched his face and shook his head as the alcohol hit him. He cleared his throat and made his way to you, wrapping his hand around your waist, and pulling you closer to his toned chest.
Yeah, very much friend-like behaviour.
You ignored it and instead focused on throwing a ping-pong ball. Unfortunately, you missed and soon ended up with the same frown as Drew seconds ago. He chuckled and spun you around to face him. And then, he took the hat off his head and placed it on yours. You widened your eyes and smirked.
"Are you aware of the rule?" You hummed, tilting your head to the side.
"I'm well aware. So, what you gonna do 'bout it?" His tone was daring and you could hear something else in it. But you were too drunk and stunned to try and investigate.
And all of that 'cause he just admitted to knowing the riding hat rule.
