Jack was in the cave system near his base, mining for materials. Cobblestone, Coal, Iron, ect.

It was early in the day, and everyone else was out doing other things. Gathering food, finishing up the base, exploring, looting abandoned shipwrecks, ect.

He and Dave had been put on mining duty... But to be fair, Dave wasn't doing his Job. He just bugged Jack... Jack honestly wished a creeper would pop up and blow Dave up, but he'd just respawn in bed anyways.
