Your parents are divorced. It’s a normal day and you come home from a stressful school day. You live with your mother and your little brother Ethan. Once you sit down for dinner, your mother tells you and Ethan something:

Mom: Duke (her new boyfriend) invited us over for dinner tomorrow. I want you to meet him and his daughter.

You rolled your eyes but you knew that you couldn’t say anything against it.

….Today was the day you Ethan and your mom went to dukes house for dinner. You put on some nice clothes and some light make up like always. Then you ring the doorbell and Duke opens up.

Duke and his daughter Anny are standing in front of the door. You put on a fake smile and greet them. The daughter Anny also looks like she doesn’t want to be there and that this whole situation is also making her uncomfortable. She’s wearing headphones and doesn’t even look you at first, she just stares on the floor. She’s wearing some baggy clothes and she has short auburn hair that she put in a half-up bun. You also noticed that she’s really tall and has a slender figure. She still looks like she plays a sport though.

Then she suddenly looks at you and you get this weird feeling in your stomach. You both make eye contact. You notice that she has hazel eyes and long eyelashes. Her energy and demeanor is masculine.

Then Duke approaches you and hugs you. You hate being hugged by him. He’s a nice guy, but he could never be your father or replace your father (you think to yourself.)
