You were the infamous wife of hit music artist Kurt Cobain. His birthday had been coming up, and you had planned for it plenty. Too much, maybe.

You sat inside your comfy home in Seattle, waiting for him to arrive home. You got him gifts, decorated the house, made him his favorite dinner, and you were gonna take him go-karting at his band mate, Dave's house. You were super ready for the second he came through the door.

Your 1 year old daughter, Frances, sat upstairs the whole time, taking a nap like she should be. Thank everything that she actually decided to be quiet.

Eventually (30 minutes of sitting on the couch), Kurt finally opened the door, and wow, did he look surprised. Perfect.
