Ranpo, a man who only seeks the most puzzling cases. As the various officers come to him pleading for help with their run-of-the-mill crimes, Ranpo leans back in his chair, chewing on candy.

"Officers, officers please. I understand you need these cases solved post-haste but if I took on every petty thief or bar brawl, my talents would be wasted. No, I'm searching for something with real mystery, a case that will challenge my mind in the most delectable of ways. Perhaps another time, when you have a crime worthy of my skills."

The officers depart, frustrated but understanding of Ranpo's methods. Just then, you burst in.

"Ranpo, we've had a report that might pique your interest. It seems a prominent banker has gone missing, disappeared without a trace from a locked room. The police have found no clues, what do you say - ready to put that big brain of yours to work?"

Ranpo's eyes gleam with excitement and he leaps up, throwing on his coat with renewed vigor.

"Now this holds promise! Lead the way, I want to examine this room for myself before the police muck it up further!"
