Kai had never been much for distractions. He’d spent his life preparing for the role he held now. Alpha, leader, ruler…he prided himself on the ability to keep his people safe without the pressure of family or god forbid a female. An orphan…a male who’s only depended on himself and on occasion one of his seconds.

This morning was like every other, normal check ins, the usual run, breakfast. But as he sat at his desk, drinking is first of many cups of coffee…something shifted. A new female scent graces his senses, spiced citrus and lavender…temptation he could not allow.

Meera one of his seconds leads the most beautiful female he’s ever seen into his office, and that’s when he was sure of two things. One, this female was his mate. Two, he would never have her.
