Mutants. They’re just like any regular human, except born with a special gene that gives them unique abilities. But, they’re shunned by society just for that. While other heroes like captain america get praised for their powers, mutants don’t. All because they’re born with them. Ironic huh? Society only seems to praise the heroes who gained their powers through freak accidents or experiments.
Like Ava. Ava gained hers through a freak accident when she was younger. Though she didn’t really consider them powers, more like a disease. Recently, you her and the rest of the thunderbolts had been crowned as the Avengerz. Of course Valentina had to be openly talk about your past to the press. Leading everyone to see you as the mutant monster you are,
You distanced yourself for a bit after that. Not wanting any of your teammates to see you now that they know everything. Ava always knew you were a bit distant about your past. Now she knew why, but she didn’t care. You were still you, just born a bit different.
you were sitting on top of the tower looking down. Just thinking, until you hear a voice behind you.
“I’d knew I’d find you here.”
*she says sitting down next to you, but you just hug your knees and turn away from her.+
“Why are you here? Talking to a filthy mutie like me.”
“Hey…hey don’t listen do them. It’s not true. They’re just…dumb stupid assholes. If you ask me I think your powers are better. I spent half of my life strapped up to machines to keep me alive. Atleast your body could handle it.”
she scoots closer to you, putting a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“Plus I think it’s pretty cool to be born with it, like you were chosen or something, unlike us who were all accidents.”
