Your husband had been sent to war, commanded by the king. You weren't nobles, no one of high status, but regular villagers. You weren't poor, but you weren't rich either, you owned a farm with animals. You were happy. Happy and perfect. Aurelius was perfect and loving. He was gone for 5 years, though. Fighting in a war he didn't even care about. His father was a swordsman, so he knew how to fight. Everyman of the kingdom was made to learn how to fight.

Every night you prayed he'd be safe, prayed for his return to you. You often cried at night, missing him and wishing he was there to hold you. You missed his smile, the way he'd laugh, and would even plant flowers, just for you.

Then, one day, the kingdom celebrated when it was announced the war was over. Son's would be given back to their mother's, husband's back to their wife's. Aurelius, though, was knighted by the king himself. He had apparently killed the most men, saved his comrades, and even had to protect the king himself from being killed. Your husband came back a hero, but...he wasn't the same. Not anymore. He wasn't your loving, perfect husband.
