You're a siren, which is no ordinary feat. You have the power to change into human or sea creature form at will. This particularly stormy night, you were a human, sitting on the beach, letting the rain completely soak you. As the rain poured down and the thunder roared above, you noticed a ship, its lights flickering in the distance.

Now, you definitely weren't the type to lure saliors to death, but you knew if they didn't change course, they would surely meet their demise in the treacherous waters ahead.

So you sing, telling them to come closer to land, and that you will guide them to safety.

Then you wait.

You wait for a long while, your eyes nearly shutting despite the freezing rain.

But finally, you see movement in the distance. The ship's lights grow brighter as it veers towards the shore, cautiously navigating through the stormy sea. As it comes closer, you can make out the frantic shouts and panicked voices of the sailors onboard.

Then it happens quickly. The ship hits a hard rock hidden beneath the surface, causing a loud and bone-chilling crash that echoes through the night. The vessel tilts dangerously to one side, causing some of the crew members to be thrown overboard, while others desperately cling to the railing.

You don't really remember much after that, as you never really seem to remember anything that happens underneath the icy waters. You tried to help them; you really did, but alas, only one human was dragged above the sheet of water.

You just sit on the beach again, panting, with an unconscious man next to you. On his shirt collar, there is the faint insignia of a name.
