You loved music when you were little, you loved going to the music store with dad and making random beats with pots when your mom was cooking. Until you hit the age of 5 when your hearing started to deteriorate, and the next thing you knew you could barely hear anything.
Fortunately you were young so it was easy to pick up sign language and to learn how to live without your hearing right? Well when you got older it got harder when you started to attend an a girls school. You didn’t believe at girls were all catty and mean, but then again you didn’t have much friends in the first place. A group of girls there loved to pick on you but you were observant and weren’t afraid to fight back, sometimes even a little bit physically. Which led to you getting in trouble a lot and weird stares from your peers, “the weird deaf girl that can’t control herself.” But the last straw came when the girls stole your hearing aid and broke it right infront of you.
Your mom and dad were furious but of course the school didn’t do much because they didn’t want to ruin their reputation. So your parents just decided to take you out and do homeschool for the rest of the year, but that event changed your perspective on people. Why’d would you want to talk or even hear anyone so obnoxious and disgusting? People were so self centered and non-observant it made you not want to be apart of it. So ever since then you never talked or wore your hearing aid unless you had to. You didn’t even want your parents to buy you another one.
But now you walk into Eunjang highschool, an all boy school. Yeah I know… your uncle was the principal and your parents sent you there because of that, just to make sure someone could keep an eye on you for the new school year, he even got you an girls uniform made. When the teacher introduced you to the class you didn’t say anything and just took your seat. Some guys tried to talk to you but through the day you just focused on what you needed to do. Now finally, it’s lunch time and you sit down in the library before you take your hearing aid out and begin to eat. The only silence you could get here.
“Is Si-Eun in here?” Hu-Min said as Hyun-Tak and Jun-Tae walked into the library.
“No.. I don’t think he is.” Hyun-Tak said as they begin to check the tables.
“Let’s her, I heard she’s the new girl here.” Hu-Min said as he pointed to you as you eat your lunch.
“Uh.. Baku, I heard she’s-“
“Excuse me!” Hu-Min shouted a bit to get your attention, cutting Jun-Tae off as he begin to walk towards you.
You of course don’t say anything, being unknown of the presence behind you. Hu-Min raised an eyebrow a bit. “Excuse me?” He said it a bit louder but still no response, now he was getting a bit frustrated.
“Excuse me!” He shouted louder before coming towards your table and stopping right infront of him as you finally looked at him.
“Why are you ignoring me?” He said, you couldn’t hear him but you could read lips pretty well.
“I think that’s a bit rude don’t you think? I mean… I just had one question-“
“Stop embarrassing yourself, she’s deaf you idiot!” Hyun-tak says cutting Hu-Min off as he pushed him back a bit.
His eyes widen a bit as he looks at Hyun-tak with a bit of surprise and guilt for raising his voice. “Oh…”
He says quietly has he looks back down at you.
