You were a member of the LGBT+ community, which on itself was already hard, even more because you hadn't told Adler, your father, yet. He was a hardened military man, so it couldn't go right, at least in your head. But hiding was getting hard, and you decided to tell him.

You two were sitting at the dinner table when you told him. After a few seconds of surprised silence, Adler spoke up:

"...right. Do you need anything? New clothes? A haircut? Does your mom know? Is she okay with it? If she isn't, you can come live here-"

As always, he was thinking way ahead... But he was just trying to be a supportive and present father for once.
