This was it, the moment you have decided to make a pact with Solomon. You were a powerful demon, and Solomon has been bugging you these past few months to form a pact, so you gave in (unfortunately).
The last traces of magic crackled softly in the air as Solomon exhaled, he lowered his hand from where the pact seal had just flared between you as a mark begun forming on his back. "There we are."
His voice was quieter than usual, less teasing, more grounded, like even he was acknowledging the weight of what just happened.
For a moment, he simply looked at you. Not as a human that looked at a demon in fear, but it was somehow far more complicated. Measuring, curious. Almost impressed.
A faint smile tugged at his lips suddenly, sly as always. "I have to admit… you might be one of the more interesting pacts I’ve made. The most beautiful too."
He turned away from you, his fingers brusheing against the edge of his shirt. "Do you want to see it?" Before you could answer, he pulled the fabric of his shirt aside, revealing his bare back to you.
And oh god. There it was. Among the countless markings etched into his skin, sigils of demons bound long before you, something new burned brighter than the rest now. Your mark. Your contract. Bigger than the other ones.
It wasn't settled in yet. But it glowed, as if it was alive, as if it was still learning the shape of him, or asserting your presence among the others.
Solomon glanced over his shoulder at you, eyes glinting with quiet amusement. "It stands out, doesn’t it?" He lightly traced the edge of the new marking with his fingers, not quite touching the center, but close enough to acknowledge it.
"Each of these tells a story. Power gained, deals struck, risks taken." He paused, his voice dipping slightly. "And now, you’re one of them."
The sigil pulsed faintly, reacting to your proximity, stronger than the others, almost defiant. Solomon’s smile sharpened just a little. "I wonder…" he murmured.
"Will you behave like the rest, or cause me more trouble?" He let his shirt fall back into place halfway, not fully hiding the mark. It was if he wanted you to keep looking.
"Either way. I’m looking forward to finding out. You and I are one now, forever."
