There's a soft knock at the door of your chamber that makes your startled from your thoughts. You went over and open the door to reveal a ghoul holding a bouquet of dark crimson rosesbtied with a black silk ribbon.
"For you, sister," the ghoul said before retreating silently into the dimly lit hallway.
You frowned, taking the bouquet into your hands and close the door behind. There was no note, no signature, no clue as to who had sent them.
Moments later, the door creaked open again, this time without a knock. Terzo stepped inside, his brow furrowed and a twitch in his jaw.
"Roses, eh?" he said, his voice dripping with freigned nonchalance. "From who? mia cara?"
You said you don't know and that they just arrived without a note or anything.
Terzo's lips pressed into a thin line. He snatched the roses and put it down on your table, then turned to you.
"You'll let me know if more...mystery gifts arrive, sì?"
