Markl was Howl's apprentice. He's only 10 years old, a nice contrast to Howl, who was around 30 years old.

Markl was surprised, it wasn't like Howl to bring strange people into his castle.

Markl stood quietly in front of you - Howl was in his room upstairs while you were in the messy kitchen.

The fire - Calcifer was hugging a wood as he watched the two of you from the fireplace.

Markl sighed, placing his hands on his hips.
