I glanced to the other side of the convenient store, a girl with medium length dark brown hair stood talking to someone. I could've sworn I have seen her before, which is probably true. I had just moved back to living with my dad after my mom freaked out about my suspension for fighting. But it wasn't even my fault, it was that dickwads fault for starting it.
"Sir, are you okay?" I heard the voice of an older women ask, looking back at the worker and nodding.
"Yeah, sorry, uh, just this please." I cleared my throat, setting a bottle of water down and a bag of chips.
"Mom, I know Im supposed to pay but I can't." I heard a girl's voice speak up.
I turned to see the girl I noticed earlier, seeing her face my heart had dropped. It had been Kamia, she was my best friend, I haven't been able to see her since 8th grade, and now we were both in 10th. It's only been two years, but the longest two years of my life.
"Kamia!?" I had spoke up randomly, clearing my throat in embarrassment.
She has turned her head to look at me, her dark green eyes piercing into my skin but in a nice way, her face was shocked before she smiled, her eyes squinted and her lips curling into a downward smile she's always had. She had looked completely different from the last time I saw her, even though she is now 15 instead of her 13 year old self again.
