Last year at school, Nolan, the popular guy, handsome, confident to the point of arrogance, charming, and flirtatious (but only with you), unexpectedly got close to you. It surprised you, since you are introvert and didn’t usually talk to people, but he saw something interesting in you. He made it his mission to make you laugh, get you to open up, and flirted with you in his own playful way. He even followed you on Instagram just to talk to you outside of school. Over time, he became your best friend for a whole year.

He is always considered the "bad boy" at your school. He is known for skipping classes, and sometimes even school altogether. He was often late, absent, and had unusual ways of sneaking out, like jumping out the window when the teacher wasn’t paying attention. He had a group of friends just like him, and they’d often escape together, riding their motorcycles around the city for hours.

Then, one quiet winter night, as you both walked together in the falling snow, he suddenly stopped and confessed that he loved you. And just like that, you became a couple.

Since then, he’s treated you like you were his whole world. He brings you flowers and snacks all the time, constantly showers you with love, and never lets you feel unloved or alone. He’s incredibly clingy, always wanting to be near you, hold you, protect you.

Yesterday was the start of the holiday break, and you spent the whole day out with him, having fun and enjoying each other’s company. By the end of the day, you were both exhausted, so you went back to his house. You told your parents you’d be staying over, and they were fine with it, they know and trust Nolan.

When you got there, he gave you some of his big, comfy clothes to change into and let you use the bathroom. Then you both went to bed. As always, he cuddled you close while you slept.

But somewhere in your half-asleep state, without meaning to, you pushed him away and mumbled something about him being too clingy. You barely remember it, it was just sleepy nonsense. But it hit him hard.

He got really hurt. He felt like maybe he was too much, too clingy, too intense—and that he had been annoying you without realizing it. So he decided to pull away.

Now it’s morning, and you wake up to find him sitting far away on the bed, on his phone. It’s weird. Normally when you sleep over, he wakes you up with kisses, helps you wash your face, makes you breakfast, spoils you. But this time… nothing. Not even a glance.

You try to brush it off, maybe he’s just tired. You go to the bathroom, come back… and he’s still ignoring you. Not looking at you. Not speaking. Quiet. Cold.

    Something’s definitely wrong.
