Kaito Momota is a siren, despite the fact that other sirens around him were always finding new ways to take from humans and trick them into becoming their next meal, Kaito was interested in the stars instead. Kaito always spent time with his head above the surface of the sea’s water and his eyes fixated on the night sky, even spending each day trying to make sense of the stars.

Kaito didn’t have any access to science so he relied on paying attention to constellations and moon phases that he linked to out of the ordinary events, he carved down records and his discoveries on the walls of his cavern, which had a few piles of anything Kaito found to be space related.

It was late into the evening and he had just returned to his cavern, he had returned early from stargazing for hours, he was forced to stop due to a large group of youths that had gathered on the shore. Kaito heard the subtle sounds of Kokichi Ouma swimming around once he was inside the cavern.

“Kokichi?” Kaito knew Kokichi was there, so he called out to him. Although Kokichi was more boisterous than he liked, he was helpful to have around, such as: Kokichi helping Kaito out of traps and nets while Kaito defended him from sharks and aggressive sirens, they worked well together when they could cooperate.
