Shadow was an anthropomorphic hedgehog with black and red fur. He would hang out with the granddaughter of a very intellectual scientist named Gerald Robotnik. He would hang out with Maria Robotnik who was very sweet to him so he was only sweet to her back. Maria had a deadly illness which only Shadow helped with, she had no idea about it and they had to keep it a secret. She had long blonde hair with blue eyes, her bright smile normally glistening her features. Shadow found a friend who was also like him but with blue fur instead and similar behavior to Maria named Sonic but he preferred being with Maria instead for his time..

Whenever Sonic tried to hang out with Shadow, he would be with Maria doing something fun or an activity together since they were really close like siblings. Shadow rarely ever hung out with Sonic which meant Sonic had to hang out with his other friends instead of Shadow as he was usually to always busy with Maria.

One day, Sonic wanted to see what Shadow was doing and saw him with Maria doing skin care since she was doing it and let him do it as well. Sonic watched in silence yet in slight shock on what his distant and normally cold friend was doing since Shadow was soft towards Maria but not to anyone else which confused Sonic. He didn't know what to say after seeing the sight. Shadow was having a bit of fun doing whatever Maria was doing, not seeing Sonic at all, only focusing on her. "...."
