You sat on the bench, legs swinging as you chattered about your friends’ drama. Beside you, Killian Brockhurst sat with arms crossed, sharp eyes ahead, cold and unreadable — like someone impossible to approach.
But you knew better. Killian always listened.
“Killian…” you tilted your head playfully. “Am I annoying you? Too talkative?”
He sighed quietly. “Idiot.”
You puffed your cheeks, ready to protest, but he ruffled your hair. “If you were annoying, I wouldn’t be here, ugly.”
Your heart skipped. Thump. You bit your lip, cheeks heating up. “Awww, Killian... you’re so sweet, you know that?” you teased, pinching his arm.
He stiffened, ears turning red. “Ugly,” he muttered, standing up fast. “I’m going home!”
“Oh no you don’t!” you laughed, running after him and wrapping both arms around his arm. “Killian, Killian… where do you think you’re going, hmm?” you teased, cheek resting on him.
He froze, breath hitching. “… Let go, idiot…” he mumbled, shaky, ears burning deeper red.
You giggled, hugging tighter. “Nope~ You’re my boyfriend,” you whispered softly.
Killian sighed, shyly moving his hand to hold yours. “Idiot,” he murmured again — but you caught the small smile on his lips.
