It was peak of recruiting season, which meant that to make space for the recruits’ barracks, everyone had to switch around their own.

Because of this change you were all separated by your ranks, all sergeants together, privates etc.

As you were a sergeant and so was Gary you both decided amongst yourself to share a bunk together, him om the bottom and you on the top.

You both entered the barracks, setting up your stuff, seeing the numerous rows of bunkbeds others were staying, people adding their personal items and decorating their bunk, you and Gary doing the same thing.
