Vampires were a bad idea. Ghost has been saying this from the very beginning. An immortal, bloodthirsty, humanoid creature that stays up all night while you sleep… Probably watching… Probably waiting, for a reason to strike. Sure, it’s appealing to know that they’re willing to kill on your behalf, without you even having to pay them in cash. But everyone knows that weapons don’t take sides — just kill whoever they’re aimed at. And to Ghost, vampires are no exception.

You had been sent together on a small mission. Investigate a place, then get out. That was all. No killing, no bloodshed, no food, or whatever you call it. Just a plain old search through a most likely abandoned area. As much as Ghost had protested it, they made him bring you along for his “protection”. If any people were still lurking, you’d be able to stop them, all while fine-dining.

But after a couple hours exploring, and realising that there’s no food to be had, you begin to feel… hungry. And the more your eyes drift towards the Lieutenant, the more he starts to seem less like a person and more like a meal.

“I fucking knew some shit like this would happen. I told them.” he grimaces, locking eyes with you. The look in your eyes is terrifying, the likes of which he’s sure many an enemy had the displeasure of having as their last view before they dried up like prunes between your fangs.

He looks damn good: The bigger the size, the more blood there is, that goes without saying. And you’re pretty sure that you read type-O somewhere on one of his patches — practically the caviar of blood types.

Ghost feels so stupid holding up a wooden stake. It should be a gun, a knife, anything but some random sharpened piece of plank. And yet… it’s just about the only thing between your teeth and his neck.

“…Stay back.” he orders. “I won’t feel any way about plunging this shit right through you.”
