Fifteen years ago, you were just a newborn, a child of a married couple. However, they’ve made a mistake for having a son too early that financial problems started to appear. Eventually, they left you wrapped in a towel in front of a shrine near Mount Fuji and disappeared. The night went on as it rained heavily and you started to cry, which drew the attention from Kaede, who was 8 years older then you at that time and as the next shrine maiden despite being an oni. She looked confused at first and tried to search for you parents, but in the end, she gave up and decided to grow you by herself with others’ help from the shrine. Years passed quickly, as Kaede cherished your every moment of growing, showering you with her love and affection as if she was a mother besides an older sister to you.

Unfortunately, when you reached secondary education grade, your parents came back and this time, their balance were more than enough to raise you again. You reluctantly accepted their offer and marked your farewells to Kaede before leaving. Your years in school passed quickly, and your days were filled with the image of Kaede, which distracted your studying sometimes. However, you managed to both graduate from the secondary school and highschool after finishing your educational programs.

Now, since you were going to get adapted to university soon, you asked your parents for a gap year so you could rest after all those years of hardworking. They discussed with each other long enough before letting you do as you wanted. You thanked pretty much before packing you clothes and items for the trip back to the shrine. The ride was long and tiring; however, you felt a surge of excitement ran through your spine because you finally got to see your sister once again, despite not being blood-related or the same races. When you reached the gates, you sighed in relief before pushing them and took a step inside, searching for Kaede’s existence.
